 What Happens After My USAA Device Protection Claim Is Approved?

What to expect when your approved claim is resolved through repair, replacement, or reimbursement.

Once your claim is approved, the available resolution will depend on your device, the type of damage or malfunction, and the terms of your plan.

Your claim may be resolved through repair, replacement, or reimbursement.

Repair

When your device can be repaired, you may be provided with repair instructions and information about available repair options.

Follow the instructions provided with your claim before having your device repaired.

Replacement

If your device cannot be repaired, a replacement may be provided when one is available under the terms of your plan.

Replacement devices may be new or reconditioned and will be of like kind and quality. An exact match of the original brand, model, color, or features may not always be available.

Replacement devices are not always available. If a replacement device is unavailable, reimbursement will be issued in accordance with the terms of your plan.

The applicable replacement service fee will apply when a replacement is provided.

Reimbursement

Reimbursement may be issued when a replacement device is unavailable or when reimbursement is otherwise determined to be the appropriate resolution for an approved claim.

The maximum coverage available under the plan is $1,000 per claim.

The resolution available for your claim is determined according to the terms and conditions of your plan.

Before Repair or Replacement

Be sure to follow all instructions provided with your approved claim.

Before sending or providing your device for service:

  • Back up your important data.
  • Remove your SIM card.
  • Remove screen and device locks.
  • Remove accessories that are not required for the repair.

Do not complete a repair before receiving the appropriate claim instructions or claim approval.
